I couldn't stop smiling.

What a difference tires make. I went from stock summers last winter to Firestone winter rubber. The tires are amazing. They grab on launch even without the traction control. The is some understeer but you just hit the gas and ur pukka it where you want to go.

I know crappy pics but it was cold I didn't want to hang around to long and I just wanted to get back behind the wheeland potato. Overall I give myself a 4/10 for performance. In still fairly new to stick. What kind of stuff should I be careful of to minimize wear or injury to the car specifically for awd and manual?

Our Wrangler is just hilarious in the snow. Gobs of torque and nearly bald road tires mean you can four wheel drift it even with 4WD engaged. I'll have to get some video of it sometime.

Tips:

Don't use the parking brake to initiate a slide. Or at all. Subaru's AWD system no likey.

Just find a gear and leave it there, don't slip the clutch, don't bounce it off redline.

Also make sure you're ON slippery stuff 100% of the time, with all four tires. If you start digging down to pavement after numerous drifts in the same area, stop and find somewhere else to play. Your driveline will thank you.

Nothing, STi's are like sluts. They'll take it all.

Side step launches will eventually eat your clutch but that's expected with any car.

I've heard e-brake slides are not good for the awd

For added fun, read up on weight transfer. Helps you get tail-happy without the e-brake and resulting driveline stress. (imagine trying to stop a person by grabbing one foot. Doesn't end well.)
